Pneumococcal Vaccine Available Now

Pneumococcal bacteria can lead to a range of harmful infections, especially in children and older adults - the pneumococcal vaccine is now available, and is government-funded for eligible patients.
The Australian Immunisation Handbook recommends the pneumococcal vaccine for:
infants/children, as part of their routine vaccinations
adults over 65 years of age
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people over 25 years of age
anyone with medical conditions that may make them more susceptible to a pneumococcal infection
You may be eligible for a free pneumococcal vaccine through our pharmacy if you are:
over 65 years of age
Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander and over 25 years of age
between 5 and 18 years of age with specific medical conditions*
over 18 years of age with specific medical conditions*
